With RASC OK Centre Members
Dark Sites and the Okanagan Observatory
dark sky greatly enhances every aspect of observing allowing for easier
object location and greater appreciation of detail. RASC Okanagan
Centre members scan the night sky from back yards, local sports fields,
parks, darkened ski hills, wilderness-logging roads and from the
Okanagan Observatory site, and you are welcome to join in the fun.
Jim Kanester regularly prepares
Observing Challenges for the Vernon meeting group, which are also
shared with members throughout the Okanagan Centre. The
Challenges offer an opportunity to visually explore different areas of
the sky, learn about the exciting features you are observing, and add
to your knowledge and observing skills. Jim includes introductory
information, charts, pictures and several levels of challenge. Check
